ALEX SCHMID
Senior Consultant
Alex joined ECA as an Analyst in 2020. At ECA he has worked on a range of projects spanning the electricity, water, and gas sectors, especially in the Asia-Pacific Region. Among his recent experience, he has supported the Malaysian energy commission in its regulatory determination for the electricity utility’s allowed revenues and tariffs. Other current or recent assignments include developing an e-mobility roadmap for the Pacific Island Countries, financial modelling for utilities, assessing the impact of different water tariff structures, and reviewing subsidy frameworks.
Alex holds an MSc in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics, from which he also holds a BSc in Geography with Economics. At the LSE he developed strong econometric and GIS skills. He previously also worked as a research assistant at the LSE examining the design and implementation of innovation testbeds in the EU. Alex is a native English and German speaker.
