ECA Director, Nick Haralambopoulos was one of the instructors at the first Educational Workshop organised by the Energy Regulators Regional Association on Gas Transmission Tariff Setting in Budapest, Hungary on 6-8 May 2019. Nick’s presentation navigated participants through the ‘treacherous path’ of setting allowed revenues for regulated gas transmission companies, including an assessment of whether ensuring certainty and cost-recovery for the regulated entities can be reconciled with efficiency objectives and the sharing of cost savings with network users. The session was attended by regulatory and transmission company staff from various countries including Brazil, Croatia, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Thailand and Turkey.
