ECA has been engaged to support the Green Mini-Grids Market Development Programme (Phase 2) implemented by the African Development Bank. More specifically, ECA will develop the Access to Finance component, which includes: designing a Results-Based Financing (grants) facility in support of mini-grid rural consumer connections; designing a training program for commercial banks interested in implementing green credit lines (debt) to finance mini-grid projects; conducting a study of potential supplier and export credit arrangements and the promotion of local manufacturing. This assignment will be carried out over 12 months, starting in November 2017.
