Carbon pricing instruments (CPIs) are truly going global. In support of obligations under the Paris Agreement countries around the world are exploring how to design, develop and implement their own CPIs in an acceptable yet effective manner. The Partnership for Market Implementation is a multi-donor trust fund supporting these efforts. ECA are delighted to have been contracted by the World Bank under the PMI initiative to provide readiness support to the Government of Malaysia in its policy decisions over CPI design, assessment of the economic impacts of proposed CPIs, establishment of the institutional framework, and assistance with capacity building and stakeholder engagement.
