The World Bank is preparing the proposed Rwanda Renewable Energy Fund (REF) Project that intends to provide $50 million towards investments in stand-alone solar and renewable energy mini-grids and technical assistance. ECA has been engaged by them to support the preparation of the mini-grid component of the REF. This work includes the design of a financing facility, which will offer various type of financing that range from pre-development financing, debt financing, grants, guarantees, or other financing instruments.
