The World Bank published ECA’s report on the gas sector reform in Ukraine. The report presents analysis and recommendations related to the restructuring of the gas transmission and storage business lines of the National Joint-Stock Company Naftogaz. The aim is to assist Naftogaz in increasing competitiveness of its gas sector, to meet the requirements of the EU 3rd Energy Package, and to create conditions for gas trading with Europe. This forms part of our long standing support – funded by the World Bank and the EU – to the Government of Ukraine in restructuring the gas sector and supporting the IMF Action Plan for Ukraine. ECA is also currently advising on the restructuring of the upstream gas production activity.
