ECA has been engaged by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to conduct energy sector research in Somaliland and design a hybrid mini-grid pilot for the provision of energy to health centres and potentially other energy consumers in their proximity. The study will assess the implications of the social, political and economic context for the design of the inception phase of ‘energy security and resource efficiency in Somalia’ (ESRES).
