James joined ECA in October 2024, previously he worked at Aurora Energy Research as an Energy Modeller. There, his main area of focus was developing and maintaining power market models used to analyse power markets across Europe. Projects included analysing the impact of a future hydrogen economy on the GB power market and forecasting ancillary power markets across Southeastern Europe to evaluate investment cases for batteries.

James holds a masters degree in operational research from the University of Edinburgh and a bachelors degree in economics from Trinity College Dublin.
