ABOUT ECA / TEAM
GUANFEI LI
Anaylst
Guanfei joined ECA in May 2023. He is currently involved in an electricity demand forecast project. His primary responsibility is to identify the most robust forecasting approach from a range of international practices. He also contributes to a battery energy storage system (BESS) development project and investigates strategies that incorporate experience from mature markets and are best suited to the client country. Before joining ECA, he worked as a data analysis intern at Mastercard Data & Services. He is experienced in handling large datasets and applying a range of statistical models.
Guanfei holds a MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BSc in Actuarial Science from Nankai University in China. During his study at LSE, he participated in a research project as a research assistant, where he conducted data analysis and prepared research reports for a professor, facilitating effective communication with her liaison in the World Bank. Guanfei’s master thesis looks into the impact of limited access to international frontier research on scholars using China as a case study. By collecting data from the Web of Science and applying advanced econometric techniques, he shows Chinese researchers have less international collaboration with foreign scholars due to the lack of free access to international research.
