Alex joined ECA in September 2021. Focused largely on decarbonisation policy, he has researched renewable energy localisation opportunities, conducted carbon pricing impact assessment analyses, researched power sector structures, and assisted on coal phaseout modelling. His projects have spanned across Europe, Asia Pacific, and Africa.

Alex graduated in BSc Economics from the University of Leeds in 2019, and subsequently worked at Barclays as a Graduate Project Manager. Following this, he completed a master’s degree in MSc Environmental and Natural Resource Economics at Durham University. His dissertation analysed the determinants of the level of climate policy in Eastern Europe using panel data econometrics.
