The Commission for the Regulation of Utilities (CRU) in Ireland published its Final Determination for Price Review 6 (PR6) on 16 December 2025, marking a significant milestone for the electricity sector. In this Insight by Tara McNally, key elements of the determination are analysed, with particular focus on network infrastructure development. This regulatory period, running from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2030, marks a phase of substantial transformation in Ireland’s electricity system, driven by accelerating decarbonisation and increased network investment.
