The concept of Just Transition aims to ensure that no one is left behind in the shift to low-carbon, sustainable economies. Initially focused on protecting workers affected by environmental regulations in the 1970s, it has since expanded to address the uneven impacts of the energy transition on communities and stakeholders. Central to Just Transition is energy equity, which entails access to affordable, modern and clean energy for all.
