ACER has published ECA’s in depth report into electricity forward markets in Europe. ACER wished to improve its monitoring of forward markets in order to detect systemic inefficiencies hampering competition. This was brought into focus for them by the EU’s impending adoption of the Forward Capacity Allocation Guideline. ECA provided an in depth survey of cleared and over-the-counter markets highlighting data inefficiencies and providing an assessment of the potential monitoring tools available to ACER both now and once data from REMIT becomes available. READ MORE
