ECA is working with AFD and DFID in the inception phase of their GMG Kenya programme. DFID will provide £30 million via AFD for a 5-year programme to support mini-grids integrating renewable energy. ECA is responsible for the design of a capital support and transaction advisory facility to catalyse private sector investment in mini-grids.
