GRIGORIOS VARYMPOPIOTIS
Technical Director
Grigorios is a Mechanical engineer with an Energy engineering specialisation (MSc and BSc). He holds an MSc in Energy, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School, London and a Certificate on Management from Harvard Business School (HBS), USA.
He has more than 10 years’ of professional experience in the energy sector and has led and participated in numerous projects including; power sector master plans, due diligence studies for power plants, electricity load forecasting projects, renewable energy and BESS integration projects, market studies, electricity tariffs, tariff design, electricity pricing and cost of service studies. Over the past 10 years Grigorios has been focusing on energy policy advisory, investment planning, electricity pricing and regulatory economics.
Grigorios has advised more than 30 electricity utilities and private investors on electricity system planning and tariffs worldwide. He also has advanced modelling skills for the simulation of power sectors (PLEXOS, WASP and others), and has developed several dispatch models to evaluate power plant investments. He has also developed electricity tariff (allowed revenues, tariff design and tariff setting), electricity pricing and financial analysis tools for utilities, regulators and private investors/companies.
Grigorios has led and managed multinational and multicultural teams of experts for more than 20 energy related projects worldwide. His worldwide experience includes countries in Europe, Middle East, South East Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and South America.
