Senior Consultant

Federico has 10 years of experience in the field of renewable energy and rural electrification as an engineer, project developer and consultant. His areas of expertise include market assessments, feasibility studies, design and implementation of programmes to support renewables and rural electrification, assessment of public and private financing options, plus policy and regulatory analyses.

Recent projects led by Federico include market research to support the design of financing facilities (e.g. for the World Bank in Malawi, DR Congo and Uganda), pre-feasibility studies of renewable-energy mini-grids in Kenya and Djibouti, and capacity-building activities for public-sector stakeholders in Mozambique and Botswana.

Prior to joining ECA in 2013, Federico worked for a Kenyan solar energy company (African Solar Designs, ASD), for GIZ and for Practical Action Nepal. He has a double MSc degree in Energy and Environment from Ecole de Mines de Nantes (France) and Kungliga Tekniska Hogskolan (Sweden).
