ECA has been appointed to determine new electricity tariffs for Indonesia’s state utility, PLN, under a World Bank-funded project. The tariffs will update previous estimates of the costs of service to different customers and project PLN’s financial requirements and resulting tariff needs for coming years. The project is of particular importance as PLN pursues its 35 GW programme, intended to meet rapidly-growing electricity demand and to allow a long-planned move away from its heavy reliance on oil-fired generation.
