Myanmar passed a new Electricity Law in October 2014. This introduces a new system of licensing and regulation including a requirement to establish tariffs in line with industry needs. ECA, as part of a team led by DFDL of Thailand, is drafting regulations for the future calculation and approval of electricity tariffs in accordance with the new law.
